Lernaean Hydra

Description

It's my entry for *ArtisanCraft's greek/roman contest

Lernaean Hydra - another poor creature, who lived his life far from humans beneath a lake trying to keep mortals away from gates to underworld, slain by brute Hercules who committed a mass-murder among rare and mythical creatures. Have you ever wondered why we don't have such wonderful beasts wandering around? Its because of those so called "heros"! How can any creature stand up to the demigod? Its totally unfair... :(

Blade is made from Böhler steel and is 13 cm long. Overall length is 24,5 cm. Heads and necks are carved and cut out and details are acid-etched (approximately 18% HNO3). Fitting is casted bronze. Handle is from basswood burl and its stabilized with epoxy resin - to give it strength and durability and also to color it a bit (i added a bit of dark-blue pigment to the resin) to give it more interesting look. I'm very satisfied from the outcome.

PS - sorry for possible grammatical errors :D
