Its a good feeling to really craft something over so long period of working and studing. My first doublebladed thingie - its not perfect for the same reason

I love purpleheart, it's heavy, dense, and absolutely gorgeous. I'm planning on making a similar dagger myself pretty soon, though with the lack of any kind of budget I'll probably have to use scrap wood or a maple branch for a handle, won't be nearly as nice as this.
